Sri Lanka Tourism embarks a multi-city Roadshows in India to Boost Tourism

New Delhi:  Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau announced multi-city roadshows in India to Boost Tourism. The roadshows will commence in Chandigarh on July 10th and will be followed by Jaipur on July 11th, August 1st at Vishakhapatnam and August 3rd at Coimbatore. These events will include one to one meetings, presentation and workshop offering a great networking opportunity for Indian outbound travel professionals and understanding of the unique product offerings for Indian travellers to Sri Lanka.

The roadshows aim at strengthening the tourism relations between travel partners of both the countries and are part of SLTPB strategic efforts to promote Sri Lanka as the most preferred short-haul holiday destinations for Indian travellers.

Speaking about the roadshows, Sutheash Balasubramaniam, Managing Director, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau said, “India continues to be our top source market. We believe that the potential of the Indian travel market is yet to realise in terms of attracting longer stay and higher spending travellersIt is our fervent hope to make Sri Lanka the most preferred destination in Asia for Indian travellers. Sri Lanka offers travellers an array of diverse product offerings and experience spread across the small island and cater to all ages.

Sri Lanka has seen a substantial growth in tourist arrivals from India in the year 2017, with over 3.85 lakh Indian travellers. This makes India one of the top 5 tourists’ arrival market in Sri Lanka. To ensure the steady growth in 2018, these roadshows will focus on building relationship with these emerging markets and build a connect between the Travel Agents, Tour Operators of these Tier 2 cities with the DMCs, Hospitality segment and Airlines of Sri Lanka.

Sharing his delight, Vineet Gopal, Director, Representation World shared, “We are extremely happy and feel proud to be associated with Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau for their roadshow in these key important cities.  Sri Lanka is a beautiful country, which is yet to be completely explored by Indian travellers. Its potential is still untapped so we hope that by promoting Sri Lanka in these cities, which are emerging outbound tourism market, there will be additional growth for travellers from India to Sri Lanka.
