What: Kerala Tourism woos international and domestic tourists with three major attractions amongst others; kick starts its campaign – “Come out & Play”

  1. Neelakurinji (July 2018 – October 2018): Munnar, Idukki district
    • The flower blooms in all its glory unleashing a visual extravaganza once in 12 years
    • Tour planners and adventure clubs organise trekking in these hills during Neelakurinji
    • Anamudi Peak- best trekking trails and Eravikulam National Park
    • Last time, the flower had blossomed in 2006
  2. Onam (August 15 – 27, 2018): Across Kerala
  • Onam, the biggest harvest festival marks the beginning of the New Year with Chingam (August-September), the first month of Malayalam Calendar
  • Onam carnival includes drama and classical dance stage shows, food stalls, folk art and handicraft fairs, culminated with a grand parade on the last day
  • Onasadya, a nine-course meal consisting of 10-13 dishes; amalgamation of different flavours from sweet, salty to tangy, sour and spicy
  • Onam Sadhya across Kerala
  • Aranmula Snake Boat Race, Pamba River
  • PuliKali dances in Thrissur
  1. Jatayu Earth’s Center: Chadayamangalam, Kollam district
    • To be launched in June 2018
    • World’s largest functional bird sculpture that offers over 20 adventure activities such as: Valley Crossing, Chimney Climbing, vertical Ladder, Archery, Zip-line, Commando Net, Rifle Shooting
    • Sculpture has a length of 200 feet, width of 150 feet and height of 70 feet
    • Audio- visual museum built inside the sculpture, which spans over five levels
    • Multi-dimensional mini theatre
    • Cable car facility to reach the hill top
    • Integrated paint ball station, which is spread across the large natural terrain
    • An hour long trekking through the forest
    • Ideal for corporate team- building programs with activities such as: Rappelling, Jummering, Bouldering, Valley Crossing, Chimney Climbing, vertical Ladder, Archery, Zip-line, Commando Net, Rifle Shooting, Log Walking and much more

When: June – October 2018
How to reach: Easy air-connectivity from metropolitan cities to the three international airports in Kerala i.e. Trivandrum International Airport, Cochin International Airport and Calicut International Airport along with Kannur International Airport (KIAL), which will be operational soon.
