[dropcap]P[/dropcap]anaji: Heritage Walk and Swatchh Bharat Swatchh Paryatan kick starts Paryatan Parv in Goa. Parv commenced on Sunday, 16th September 2018 with a great line up of activities for 11 days aimed at creating awareness on Goa’s known and unknown facets.
The Paryatan Parv is an initiative of the Ministry Of Tourism, Govt Of India in association with India Tourism Goa, Dept Tourism, Goa Tourism Development Corporation, IHM Goa and other Tourism stakeholder’s in Goa.
On day 1, a special Heritage Walk was organized for an hour from 8.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. The meeting point was Central Library, Patto, Panjim at 8.45 a.m. and included a mangrove walk for which the route was from Mangroves Garden behind central library -Paryatan Bhavan – old Pato Bridge – Joao Castro Road – GPO – Casa da Moeda – St. Tome Chapel – Sterculia foetida Tree – 31st Jan Rd. – Indo Portuguese Architecture – Corte de Oiteiro Junction – Cross Footbridge to Paryatan Bhavan followed by Swaschata hee seva at Paryatan Bhavan.
Mr.Omanakuttan, Asst Director India Tourism, Mr.Deepak Narvekar Sr Manager Mktg/PRO GTDC,Mr. Laxmikant Vaigankar GM Admin GTDC, Miss Sailee Amonkar Dy Director Accts, Dept Tourism, IHM representatives were present for the Heritage Walk inauguration followed by Swaschata hee seva at Paryatan Bhavan.
Renowned historian Mr. Sanjeev Sardesai explained various historical aspects of Goa and other related topics. Students of IHM Porvorim participated in the Heritage Walk.
