[dropcap]M[/dropcap]umbai: JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar is proud to announce the promotion of Abhishek Rao as the Director of Sales. Prior to this elevation, he was the Director of Catering Sales at the hotel and has been a part of the team since pre-opening.
In his new role, his responsibilities will include working in close liaison with the sales & revenue teams to develop goal-focused strategic plans, grow business through various segments including groups, FITs and weddings, build and sustain customer loyalty. The role would also entail active participation in forecasting and sales strategy meetings, mentoring his team at the property and leading the sales force while creating a productive environment.
Armed with a decade of experience in the field of hospitality, Mr. Abhishek has been a part of the Marriott International family since 2006. Mr. Rao began his career with Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel, Powai as an Executive Development Program Trainee before donning the role of Events Executive at the property. Post this; he was promoted as the Assistant Events Manager at the property. He later went on to join JW Marriott Pune as the Sales Centre Manager. Prior to joining JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, he was the Associate Director of Sales at JW Marriott Pune where he was responsible to oversee the property catering sales operations.
Mr. Rao has a BA (Hons) degree from University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom alongside a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Dr. Babasheb Amberkar Maratha University (BAMU), Aurangabad, India. He also holds a Diploma in Hotel Management from Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad, India.
In his leisure time, Mr. Abhishek enjoys watching movies, listening to music and spending time with his family.
