[dropcap]N[/dropcap]ew Delhi: A new book “Indian Tourism Through Decades – from Indus to Independence and beyond” by Gour Kanjilal – a veteran in tourism field recently launched in New Delhi.
This book explains a chronological development of tourism in India as seen by me since my days with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and being with Indian Association of Tour Operators. Having an experience of 50 years, I wanted to put at one place the tourism growth scene focusing on diversification of tourism in India which just started with Golden Triangle Delhi-Agra-Jaipur and now embraces all the reasons, all the seasons and all aspects of tourism” said Gour Kanjilal.
No false modesty. I always kept confidence in myself and did not wait for outside approval “Carry on which is what self-actualization is all about.” It is vital to be engaged and passionate about your goal, and it should come naturally told my wife Susmita Kanjilal who recently left for her heavenly journey on March 28th, 2018 and the book is dedicated to her.
Enormous help was given by Manoj Babbar and a full team of Shailendra Publication without whose support this would have remained my dream. Now today my Book is being launched by Prof. Dr Sandeep Kulshreshtha, Director, IITTM, under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
A Cultural programme with an invocation to Ganesh marked the beginning of the event.
Prof. Dr Sandeep Kulshreshtha was the Chief Guest and he launched the book with a lot of pride and sharing memories with Mr. Kanjilal. Other dignitaries present included Rajesh Mudgill, Hony. Secretary, Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Prashant Sarkar, Director, Prakriti Foundation and number of Educationists, Dr Seema Sharma, Principal & Dr. Sonia Wadhawan, Head of Department- Tourism, Guru Nanak College, Karnal, Prof (Dr) Kumar Ashutosh of Centre for vocational studies, Delhi University, Prof. (Dr) Sunil Kabia from Bundelkhand University the faculty members and Media members.
